Cost and Value

Pros:

  • "The Pet Health Club makes routine preventative care easy, with regular reminders."
  • "What an amazing place. My reptile had an issue we wouldn't of been able to afford the £200 plus operation on the day so took him here to get him put to sleep(he needed it that day) and vet looked at him and said we can try something else so we came home with him alive and well and under £40 they saved him."
  • "Great service! We were down from Sheffield visiting family, when our dog injured herself. They squeezed us in same day they were very helpful and efficient."
  • "I accept that money has to be made somewhere and occasionally they do little things that they don't specifically charge for too."
  • "Would highly recommend using the Plymouth Veterinary Group as your first port of call."
  • "It maybe expensive but for out of hours help for your pet, you're in safe hands with these guys and gals."
  • "The best private veterinary hospital as someone on benefits!"

Cons:

  • "Don't recommend. Extremely expensive, 120£ for an appointment to have a cat with an infected abscess wound seen, cleaned, antibiotics and pain medication."
  • "Disappointing at best. Our dog went in for surgery and the first inkling I had that this vets wasn’t up to much was when I was charged £1650 rather than the quoted £1500."
  • "All there after is money and not caring for the animal £300 for this £500 for that."
  • "Absolute money making pit... my dog was in agonies and all they wanted was money they should be ashamed."
  • "I was outside trying to sort the money, I come back in and I am then told by the nurse I have to pay the full amount instead."
  • "I've dropped one star due to the cost of the meds being expensive compared to what they are online."
  • "Absolutely appalling prices kept changing nearly £200 to be seen for a saline drip."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Very happy with the vets, always helpful and caring."
  • "We have always had great service from the Eastover practice."
  • "We were treated with kindness & concern from the initial telephone call & through to appointment following our cat's car accident."
  • "This is only the second time I've taken my two cats to these vets but they are just so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble!"
  • "Really pleased we picked this vets for our cats as the staff are all lovely and nothings a trouble to them."
  • "Everyone I spoke to on the phone were so helpful and caring, then when we took her to her appointment the same for the staff in person."
  • "The reception staff are always friendly and always there to help."

Cons:

  • "They are so rude down there."
  • "Paying through a window whilst my 4 month old german shepherd is slowly dying in my arms outside & time critical to get to another vets for intensive care, the receptionist told me to wait & someone will be with me shortly."
  • "Saw So Many Different Vets Up There And Got So Much Different Advice About Our Dog When She Was Pregnant We Didn't Know What To Belive."
  • "The woman on the phone was very rude and blunt."
  • "Called this evening to settle the account of an emergency admission of a relatives dog... I call to pay and get fobbed off by a rude lackey on the phone citing data protection blah blah."
  • "Will not be returning to the Plymouth vets, just booking an appointment was a whole ordeal from the get go."
  • "No vets available at the local branches and a deterioration in the standard of care, recently resulting in emergency treatment elsewhere for our pet."

Puppy and Training Classes

Pros:

  • "Nellie recently graduated from the Puppy Academy and we cannot recommend Jo enough."
  • "Big shout out to Jo who runs puppy academy absolutely fantastic with the tips and advice about training a puppy which has been working a treat."
  • "Lovely and informative puppy classes with Jo Pogson including a 1:1 session."
  • "I learnt so much from her puppy classes and would recommend her services for anyone with a new puppy."
  • "She’s great with all the pups and has a lot of patience when teaching them new things."
  • "Jo has helped so much with these early stages of puppyhood! Through the classes and remotely."
  • "Puppy classes run by Jo were brilliant, lots of times for questions and helpful advice on how to train and socialise with puppy."

Cons:

  • "No ear checks no eye checks no nails checked. She basically didn’t even acknowledge my boy in any kind, or compassionate way."
  • "Overall extremely unhelpful and failed to meet the needs of our puppy."
  • "The overall welfare of my pup was not raised by the staff. The animals welfare was clearly not a priority or concern!"
  • "I had my appointment with my 9 weeks puppy... Please be aware because first appointment could cost you more than £600 just because you are scared about new member of family."
  • "How after over a year they still do not have a designated place that can be easily contained and cleaned afterwards for this heartbreaking procedure is beyond me."
  • "Got So Much Different Advice About Our Dog When She Was Pregnant We Didn't Know What To Belive."
  • "Genuinely shocked someone in this vet should be dealing with animals when they don’t do it right or by the book."
