Park Facilities

Pros:

• "Great Park with landscaping and interesting features. Tennis courts in very good condition and a pleasure to use."
• "A great park with two playparks. One for very young children and a larger park near the Brodies entrance on kilmarnock road."
• "Tennis courts, children's play area and I've seen boxing tuition going on too."
• "Regular fitness/boxing/muai Thai classes at the bandstand to try and can sign up if you like it. Fireworks displays on guy fawkes night too, nice community feel."
• "Large, popular park with duck ponds, poetry rose garden, play parks, bandstand, glass house, bowling greens."
• "The park has various sports fields including a small golf course and bowling green."

Cons:

• "Pity the Glasshouse closed, though, as loved the hothouse plants and wee menagerie - especially the budgies."

• "Park looks beautiful on a sunny day but the playpark was padlocked and closed, with many of the climbing areas fenced off."
• "It's a shame where you can see flower beds and other areas overgrown and broken...which highlights the cut backs the parks dept is under funded & manned."

Nature and Scenery

Pros:

• "Love this park, it's such a nice place for a walk and is always bigger than I expect it to be. There is a wonderful view from the flagpole, a picturesque lake and many paths to walk on."
• "At the top/east of the park is the flagpole viewpoint, with a steep walk up to the top. It provides beautiful panoramic views of Glasgow as well as the distant Kilpatrick hills and hills at the Southern edges of Loch Lomond."
